Microsoft officially announced the reconceptualization of Fable, a fan-favorite action RPG, at the most recent Xbox Games Showcase. This follows leaks suggesting a 2025 release date. According to Tom Warren from The Verge, the game is expected to launch later in the year, possibly between October and December.
In his weekly newsletter, Notepad, Warren suggests that the relaunch is currently slated for the fourth quarter of 2025, implying a date in the year's final quarter. Interestingly, he also hints at the possibility that Gears of War: E-Day, whose release date was never officially disclosed, might make its appearance before Playground Games' Fable reboot.
Furthermore, the company has announced that two additional titles, South of Midnight and DOOM: The Dark Ages, will also be released in 2025, which is a potent year for Xbox's exclusive releases.
Regarding platforms, Fable will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Recent announcements also confirmed that the game is additionally receiving development assistance from the acclaimed Deus Ex studio, Eidos Montreal.
