Wizard with a Gun Developer Galvanic Games is Shutting Down

Galvanic Games, the development studio renowned for their game, "Wizard with a Gun," has confirmed its closure. Despite receiving positive reviews, the rogue-lite twin-stick shooter didn't garner the expected audience to maintain its operations. 

Patrick Morgan, the company's founder and president, announced the dissolution on Twitter. Morgan reported that despite a promising kick-off for Wizard with a Gun, the game's sales did not suffice to keep the company afloat. He also mentioned that securing a publisher for a new game idea has yet to be timely.

Patrick Morgan expressed his sorrow about the closure, acknowledging that despite Wizard with a Gun's initial success, it was inadequate to support the enterprise's upkeep. He mentioned that the previous year was particularly challenging for the gaming industry. Highlighting their appearance at the Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain (DICE) Summit and Game Developers Conference (GDC), he noted that securing new projects would take more time than the company's remaining.

Devolver Digital published Wizard with a Gun, which debuted across multiple platforms such as PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in October of the previous year. A few weeks ago, the game was updated to include additional enjoined content and a 4-player co-op, among other free features.
